Guinea Pig Hay Feeder with Litter Box
Guinea pigs eat hay almost constantly, and most of it ends up trampled across the cage floor. A combined hay feeder and litter station keeps the hay in one place, keeps your guinea pig out of the damp litter, and turns cage cleaning into a two-minute job.
The Bunvora Bunny Station was designed for small and medium rabbits, and the same layout works well for guinea pigs: a slatted hay rack at one end, a raised litter tray with a stainless steel grid, and two stainless bowls for pellets and veg.
Why guinea pigs need a hay rack, not a pile
- Guinea pigs need unlimited hay every single day — it keeps their teeth worn down and their gut moving.
- Hay left on the cage floor gets walked on, urinated on and wasted. Most of what you buy never gets eaten.
- A slatted rack holds the hay upright so your guinea pig pulls out what it wants, when it wants it.
- Eating with the head slightly raised is a more natural feeding position than grazing from a wet floor.
Keeping a guinea pig dry
Guinea pigs are prone to sore feet and skin problems when they sit on damp bedding. The raised stainless steel grid keeps your piggy above the litter rather than standing in it, and the tray underneath lifts straight out so you can swap the liner without dismantling anything.
Will my guinea pig use it?
Guinea pigs do not litter train as reliably as rabbits, but almost all of them pick a favourite corner. Put the station in that corner, put a handful of hay in the rack and let them find it. Most guinea pigs start feeding from the rack within a day or two, and the area around the station stays much drier even if they never use the tray perfectly.
Size and fit
The station measures 55.5 x 29 x 30 cm (21.9 x 11.4 x 11.8 in), so it fits comfortably in a standard C&C cage or a mid-size hutch while leaving your guinea pig plenty of open floor. For a pair of guinea pigs, place it against a long wall so both can feed from the rack at the same time.
