Rabbit Litter Box Size Guide
A litter box that is too small is the most common reason a litter-trained rabbit starts toileting beside it. This guide gives you a simple rule, a breed table and a way to measure your own rabbit before you buy.
The simple rule
Your rabbit should be able to sit in the litter area, turn all the way around, and stretch out without any part of them hanging over the edge. If they have to stand half in and half out, the box is too small — and you will find the results on the floor.

How to measure your rabbit
- Wait until your rabbit is relaxed and sitting in its normal loaf position.
- Measure from the nose to the base of the tail, then add roughly 25 percent for stretching.
- Measure the widest point across the body, and add a few centimetres so they can turn.
- Compare those two numbers with the litter area, not the outer frame of the product.

Two rabbits?
Bonded pairs usually want to toilet together. If both rabbits are dwarf-sized they will often share one station, but the safest setup is one station plus a second plain tray in their other favourite corner — it costs little and prevents territorial accidents.
